Menstrual Cramp and its Treatment
Having menstrual cramp, painful periods or
dysmenorrhoea is common in women under 25
years of age.
Menstrual cramp comes from uterine spasms,
which temporarily deprive the muscle of
oxygen. The spasms are triggered by
prostaglandins, a group of hormone - like
compounds which are sometimes released
excessively.
Myopax
is suitable for use in the relief of
menstrual cramp. It is applied externally to
the lower abdomen and back, then gently
massaged in. Myopax has a direct soothing
and mild anti-spasm effect on muscle. It may
be used in combination with oral analgesics,
as part of your menstrual pain treatment. In
many cases you can use less oral pain
killers when using Myopax. A gentle warming
of the lower abdomen has also been reported
as an effective period pain treatment.
Menstrual cramp, if it is unusually severe
or associated with greater than normal blood
loss should be referred to your doctor.
Myopax is a non prescription medication.
