Rheumatism, Palindromic
Rheumatism and its Treatment
Rheumatism (or technically
Fibromyositis) is a general
term describing pain,
tenderness and stiffness of
both muscles and joints.
Inflammation is present in
muscle tissue and in
tendons, ligaments and other
connective tissues. The
most common areas affected
are the lower back (lumbago
back pain), neck, chest and
thighs. Rheumatism may be
caused by trauma, exposure
to dampness or cold, viral
infection, or rarely a more
serious rheumatic disorder.
Onset of pain is generally
sudden and worsened by
movement. Tenderness may be
present, sometimes
restricted to a few small
"trigger" zones. There may
be muscle spasms in the
affected area.
Rheumatism may disappear on
its own after a few days or
weeks, but may become
chronic and recur at
frequent intervals.
Austral-Balm
rapidly assists in easing
arthritis and rheumatism
pain as well as lumbago back
pain, it also increases
local circulation and
soothes by producing a
warming effect.
Austral-Balm may be applied
directly to trigger zones.
Other rheumatism and
arthritis treatments include
heat packs, rest, and gentle
massage (which can be done
in the course of applying
Austral-Balm).
Palindromic Rheumatism is a
syndrome where there are
recurrent episodes of warm,
painful joints and
stiffness. Regular anti-inflammatories
are generally not very
helpful in palindromic
rheumatism treatment.
Austral-Balm, with its
combination of Emu oil and
blend of essential oils may
be quite beneficial in
soothing the sore and stiff
joints affected by
palindromic rheumatism.
Being highly massageable
Austral-Balm can be easily
applied.
